Re: New Arrival
It looks like a dinghy that has been on our site for some time, parked among the other dinghies. No name or anything to indicate type or class.

How True!
I found the following on the ybw forum, advice given to someone contemplating buying a cruising yacht by a forum member signing himself Doug748. "Boats change your life from the moment you take ownership, like having children. You will be either working on the boat, paying for the boat, worryin...

Was there on the quay watching when it first arrived. It really is tiny. Wanted to know what he was going to do for a toilet but thought it would be indelicate to ask.

Re: C-MAP app
Just have done Mick, turned off both WIFI and mobile data - works perfectly. Not sure if it always will, maybe it's a free trial period. You can upgrade to premium version for approx' £35 this lets you download charts for anywhere and can show other ships if linked to AIS etc.

C-MAP app
Just discovered this app and I'm very impressed. It turns any tablet or smart phone into a chart-plotter, it even includes weather and it's free!
downloadable from Google Playstore or Apple Appstore.

Cruising
Wandering round the boat park on Sunday after the (excellent) visit to Index Marine, I was struck by how many capable-looking cruising yachts we have nowadays. I know the days of the classic family cruises are long gone but maybe some sort of informal cruise in company could be managed?

Whoever heard of a corporation
(a) being able to charge you for its products whether you want them or not?
(b) being able to prosecute and ultimately jail you if you decline to pay?

Re: Calm evening at Glasson
Hello Pete, I get the same when I look at the post on my phone, I click on the small box to download the image but nothing happens, so I look in my download history and I see the following message: "Access to oi1162 photobucket.com was denied". It still looks fine on the PC though.

Dolphins
We were crossing the Solway Firth recently when we were buzzed by a pod of about 16 dolphins. I've often seen them before though not in the Solway and I've rarely had them come so close to the boat. Hazel took a video on her phone which is much better than my snapshot but I can't find a way to post ...
